Eugene Phillipp, C.S.C.
Biographical Data
Personal Background
- Brother Eugene Phillipp was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. His family
owned a church supply company, which serviced a national clientele from various
midwest facilities. Br. Eugene attended nationally renowned St. Edward's
High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Br. Eugene matriculated at University
of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, where he entered the Congregation of
Holy Cross. Br. Eugene is one of three Phillipp siblings to enter a
religious community vocation.
Education
- Br. Eugene recieved a B.A. in Social Studies from the University
of Notre Dame. For graduate studies he attended both Saint Mary's
College in Winona, Minnesota and the University of Notre Dame. Br.
Eugene was awarded a M.A. in United States History from the University of
Notre Dame.
Work History
- After completing his B.A., Br. Eugene taught at
- Holy Trinity High School in Chicago, IL
- Hoban High School in Akron, OH
- Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, IN
- Since completing his M.A. he has taught at Reitz Memorial High School
full time.
- He has also taught at various high schools during the summer.
- Br. Eugene has performed and supervised various maintenance functions
for Memorial High School since 1973.
- He operates the school bookstore, which includes various fund raising
functions.
